BrickHead, a New York City based production company hired me to redesign their website to better represent their creativity energy and identity. I communicated with the two co-founders to understand their vision and collaborated with a UX designer and developer to make the vision a reality.
There were a few usability issues with their website and the design was too static and plain for their liking. A UX designer had already analyzed their website and together, we discussed what needed to be fixed as well as best practices for UX.
I designed and prototyped 2 versions of the website while communicating with the clients. While the two co-owners had different visions of the website, it was a great experience trying to work out the wants and needs to create a third final version that made everybody happy. The prototype was handed off to the developer who I also stayed in contact with for any questions as well as quality assurance.
Sometimes you have to compromise. Working with two co-founders meant that sometimes there are differences for the vision of the company. I was able to piece together the wants and needs of each client to create a brand that they both loved.
During QA meetings with developers, occasionally there would be a feature that the developer could not implement. However, since I have some experience with front-end development, I was able to help give some ideas on how I would code it and the features were able to be added! Sometimes you just need more heads to brainstorm.
